Samdrup Jongkhar residents get alert capsule
Samdrup Jongkhar November 01: The police administration in the district has asked the local residents to keep vigil on any new people seen around the town.
The security officers and local administration held secret meeting on October 24 to discuss the security situation of the district taking into consideration the vulnerability of the area where rebel infiltration is easier.
The business community, hotel, bar and restaurant owners have been told to keep record of their customers who stay overnight.
Some two months ago, pamphlets were distributed in Gomdar village that called on people to rise against the regime and criticizing the current democratic transition as the means to fool the international community.
There are 20 watch posts in the district where police keep vigil 24 hours a day. The police and immigration officers maintain record of every vehicle and people who enter or exit the main gate. Bhutan News Service
