Share prices see upward move
Thimphu, January 07: The miniature share market of the country saw rising trend in the last year making share of Bhutan National Bank the most actively traded stock in Bhutan secondary market.
In a year, a total of 23,444 shares worth Nu 17.40 million were traded in 61 transactions, the Royal Securities Exchange of Bhutan said.
At the beginning of the year, the share prices were noted at Nu 600 a share but it reached Nu 805 a share by November. The price remained to the end of the year. In December along 2,638 shares worth about Nu 2 million were traded.
The trading market also saw the rise of share prices of the Penden Cement Authority Limited from Nu 550 in June to Nu 800 a share in November. A total of 5,260 shares worth Nu 3.64 million of the company were traded.
Similarly, the price of shares of the Royal Insurance Corporation of Bhutan Limited jumped from Nu 300 to Nu 350 a share, totaling nine transactions in 5,010 shares worth Nu 1.61 million were traded during the year.
The Eastern Bhutan Coal Company traded 11,607 shares worth Nu 1.18 million in five transactions, Druka Satair Corporation Limited, traded 3,063 shares worth Nu 868,250, Druk Mining Ltd traded 2,026 shares worth Nu 869,154, Druk Plaster & Chemicals traded 50 shares and Bhutan Polymers Company Limited traded 71 shares during that year.
