Geogs transfer

Thimphu, January 18: Two geogs – Toep and Baap — under Thimphu district jurisdiction have been transferred to the Punakha and Wangduephodrang districts jurisdiction on Tuesday.

The decision to transfer the two geogs from Thimphu to Punakha was taken during the 86th national assembly session.

But, Matolungchu village having 426 people in 46 households in Baap gewog is merged with The-tsho gewog in Wangduephodrang district. One family of six members has been transferred to Limu gewog under Punakha district. Baap gewog has 249 households  and 1750 individuals.

Toep gewog has 318 households with a population of 2667. 65 households with a population of 261 are kept under Chang gewog in Thimphu district. Bhutan News Service
