Powerful bomb rocks Thimphu-based construction company (Breaking News 3 pm)

Kathmandu, January 20: A powerful bomb was detonated near the building of 'Singye Group Sub-Company', a Thimphu-based construction company today at around 12 noon.

Quoting a highly confidential source inside the country, vice-president of Bhutan People's Party (BPP) Jagirman Lama informed Bhutan News Service that hundreds of Royal Bhutan Army men were guarding the incident site. 

Lama further informed that the cause behind the explosion was not known. None of the groups have claimed responsibility yet.

The company belongs to Yap Ugen Dorji, father-in-law of former King Jigme Singye Wangchuk.
