Security tightens in camps, unwarranted arrest common
Beldangi-I, Feb 17: With rapid exercise in processing exiled Bhutanese for third country resettlement, security forces based in camps have been very alert.
On February 15, mid-night Nepal Armed Police deployed in camps arrested five exiled youths on charge of creating havoc in camps. The arrestees are kept in Police Station Damak.
Parents of those detained have requested camp management committee, human rights activists, media persons and local administration to put pressure for their unconditional release.
"They were arrested without warrant and we were not informed," told camp secretary T.B. Gurung to Bhutan News Service. Arjun Pradhan/Bhutan News Service
