‘BTF trying to link with ULFA’
HC Kharkwal, Inspector General, Frontier Headquarters, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Gauhati told reporters that outfit is consistently trying to tie up with the ULFA, for which the SSB is monitoring the activities of BTF and the other extremist groups operating in the North East, including ULFA, along the Indo-Bhutan border.
“The SSB recently arrested around 30 hardcore BTF cadres and is persistently monitoring their movement along the border,” he said. He hinted that 30 Maoist cadres, given sentences recently were arrested by SSB and not by the Royal Bhutan Police.
He said the SSB launched a series of operation inside Bhutan in seach of ULFA camps. The Bhutan government has not said anything about the operation launched by SSB.
