Jigmi Thinley to receive US award

New York, January 28: Prime Minister Jigmi Thinley has been chosen as the recipient of the 2009 Distinguished Alumni Award annually given by Penn University. 
The Penn State Board of Trustees on January 23 selected eight Penn State alumni to receive the Distinguished Alumni Award, the University's highest award for an individual from the university, including Thinley.
Thinley was the first student from Bhutan to select Penn State to complete degree work, and earned his master's of public administration (1976) from the College of the Liberal Arts. Bhutan News Service
