IOM vehicle vandalize, three injured

Khudunabari, May 06: An unidentified group attacked the vehicle of International Organization of Migration (IOM) at Sanischare road on Monday.

Some nine people with mask attacked the vehicle while the exiled Bhutanese were being taken back to Khudunabari camp after being interviewed in Damak for third country resettlement.

The vehicle was attacked around 4:30 local time.

Two exiled Bhutanese and the driver have been seriously injured in the accident, IOM source said.

The intention of the attack and persons involved in has not been known. The attackers also vandalized the vehicle. Police have not arrested any suspects.

The incident has occurred as the resettlement process has been accelerated. Bhutan News Service
