Elephants ravage crops in Samtse (National)
Thimpu, June 18: The continued attack by the wild elephants on their crops forced the farmers in Sipsu geog under Samtse district spend sleepless night guarding their crops.
The attack has been continued for the last few weeks, destroying large part of the planted crops, government office, school buildings and houses in the geog.
The situation has become worse this year compared to past. All transplantation done during the day is destroyed at night.
Government is yet to compensate the farmers of the damage caused. Bhutan News Service
