Australia to continue taking exiled Bhutanese (Resettlement)
Australia, June 20: Australian government said it will continue to resettle the exiled Bhutanese in support of finding a solution of the two-decade long crisis.
Australia’s Immigration Minister Chris Evans said on Friday, “We will also continue to resettle Bhutanese refugees from Nepal as part of the international work to resolve this protracted problem.”
Senator Evans used World Refugee Day to announce Africa, Asia and the Middle East regions would each provide a 33 per cent share of the intake of 13,500 with one per cent set aside for contingencies.
He further said UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres had been invited to visit Australia next year. Bhutan News Service
