Rizal's appointment with Home Minister postponed, govt likely to grant entry
Kathmandu, August 3 : Appointment of Tek Nath Rizal with Nepalese Home Minsiter, Bhim Rawal, has been postponed for 2:30 pm today.
“My appointment is rescheduled for 2:00 pm”, Tek Nath Rizal said citing Rawal’s urgency for other tasks.
Rizal, who visited the former prime minister cum president of Nepali Congress, Girija Prasad Koirala this morning, expressed hope that the government would grant entry visas to Ratan Gazmere and Gaurai Giri.
He was serious regarding denial of entry visas, Rizal quoted Koirala as saying. Koirala expressed his deep concern and even made inquires at some ministries, according to Rizal.
Meanwhile, a team led by Association of Press Freedom Activist Bhutan is lobbying for pressuring the government through various media contacts. The team has already discussed the issue with the media advisor and the foreign affairs advisor of Prime Minister Madhab Kumar Nepal.
Rizal is also trying to meet Gazmera and Giri today who are kept at Immigration Department at Brikuti Mandap, Kathmandu.
Ratan, who was arrested in Kathmandu two days ago, left for Australia under resettlement program on Feburary 2 this year.
