Chenkyab Dorji finds job as royal steward

Thimphu, February 16, 2009: Months after completing his job at the SAARC secretariat in Kathmandu, Chenkyab Dorji has no season to worry about. He has been appointed as the chief of King’s Privy Council Saturday.

On valentine day, Dorji and other three also received the job as member of the council. They are Nado Rinchen, who was assigned to Nepal before 1990 on a state mission to make preparation for mass eviction from southern districts, Sangay Wangchuk and Dr Jagar Dorji. 

Announced amidst a traditional ceremony at the Royal Banquet Hall in Thimphu, the council will deal with the matters pertaining to the privileges of the Druk Gyalpo and the Royal Family, render advice to the King on matters concerning the Throne and the Royal Family, and any other matter as may be commanded by the King

Article 2, section 14 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bhutan says the council  consist of two members appointed by the King, one member nominated by the coulcil of ministers and one member nominated by the National Council, the upper house.
