Dorji denies Zangpo belongs to his party
Kathmandu, November 13: Druk National Congress (DNC) led by Rongthong Kuenley Dorji said Tenzing G Zangpo who was arrested in Assam over his alleged involvement in recent blasts is not associated with the party.
In a statement Dorji said media has erroneously mentioned that Zangpo as a General Secretary of the Druk National Congress (DNC) of Bhutan, who was arrested Wednesday at Guwahati.
Dorji said Zangpo’s party is called Druk National Congress-Democratic, a splinter group since September 2001.
Police arrested Zangpo along with a senior leader of separatist Indian group, the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) in connection with bomb attacks that killed 86 people last month.
Zangpo has been sent to police custody for 10 days for interrogation. Bhutan News Service
