Bhutan Show in New York
New York (USA), September 14: The Cherry Lane Theatre of New York will present an off-Broadway premiere on Bhutan from October 19, the theatre's online version states.
The premiere is presented in association with New York Stage & Film, written by Daisy and directed by Evan Yionoulis.
Performances will last till December 9.
The 'Bhutan' encompass the ups and downs of a New England family' after the death of their father. Frances Conroy wonders how she ended up here. Her mother is driving her crazy. Her aunt is stalking a married man. Her brother is in prison. She dreams of Bhutan but can barely find the kitchen door.
The cast includes Tasha Lawrence (Craig Wright's The Pavilion at Rattlestick Theatre, and Claire in the national tour of Proof), Sarah Lord (Off Broadway's The Fifth of July at Signature Theatre), Amy Redford (of the film "When I Find the Ocean") and Jedadiah Schultz (a young actor from Laramie, Wyoming, who was a character in documented by The Laramie Project by Moises Kaufman).
The artistic team includes Laura Hyman (scenic design), Rebecca J. Bernstein (costume design), Pat Dignan (lighting design) and Bart Fasbender (sound design).
Bhutan will play Tuesdays at 7 pm, Wednesdays at 11 am and 8 pm, Thursdays and Fridays at 8 pm, Saturdays at 3 and 8 pm. Tickets for Fridays and Saturdays shows at 8 pm are US$50 and all other performances are US$45. For students, tickets will be available at US$10. Bhutan News Service/ Cherry Lane Theatre
