Rizal criticizes US offer
Kathmandu, October 08: Though positive towards the US offer to resettle up to 60,000 exiled Bhutan on humanitarian grounds, human rights leader Tek Nath Rijal has criticized it stating that it was "in favor of Bhutanese King and against Bhutanese people."
"The US along with the international community is working to defend the Bhutanese king and darken the future of innocent exiled Bhutanese citizens," he accused.
He further said it was wrong to talk about resettlement without seeking way for repatriation of the people. He also urged Nepal government to come forth with its official stand on this issue prior to the November bilateral meeting. Bhutan News Service
