Bhutan postpones ministerial meeting
Kathmandu, October 20: Bhutanese government has requested Nepal to postpone the bilateral talks with Nepal that was scheduled for November 12-13.
According sources at Foreign Ministry, Bhutanese Prime Minister, Khandu Wangchuk had called Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister KP Oli to request for the postponement. Wangchuk is reported to have cited stating that November 11 is the birthday of Bhutanese King.
It is learnt that the Bhutanese PM also requested to hold the meeting in Thimpu.
Earlier, Oli had written a letter proposing to hold the meeting on November 12-13 in Kathmandu.
It is not yet confirmed about the new date. However, DPM Oli has hoped it would be held probably on November 18-19. Bhutan News Service
