A documentary exiled Bhutanese screened
Kathmandu, February 09: A documentary depicting the story of exiled Bhutanese and their future prospects was screened in the Nepalese capital Kathmandu on Friday.
Amidst the crowd of over 4,000 people including high dignitaries, the documentary was screened as part of the cultural eve organized by Civil Forum Nepal.
The 20-minute long documentary narrated the story of Lhotsampa contribution to Bhutan's development, their arrival, Bhutan government policy of Bhutanization and forceful eviction of the southern Bhutanese with use of armed forced causing hundreds of innocent citizens' death in firing and custody.
This is the first documentary prepared by any Nepalese organization in support of the exiled Bhutanese in an attempt to put pressure on the Bhutanese regime to take back its citizens and draw attention of the international community to help find an early solution of nearly two decade old problem.
