More El Paso scholarships for Bhutanese students
New Delhi, March 19: University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and Royal Civil Service Commission agree to extend the scholarship quotas to Bhutanese students this year.
According to Kuensel, president of the UTEP, Diana Natalicio and the RCSC secretary Dasho Bap Kesang signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Thimphu Friday, March 16.
The programme will also provide internship opportunities for UTEP students in Bhutan and facilitate faculty member exchange between UTEP and Bhutan.
"We at UTEP have a special interest in Bhutan because of the legacy of our architecture," Kuensel quoted Naralicio to have said. "I think that the signing of the MoU will create a special opportunity not just for Bhutan but for us because our students at UTEP are surrounded by the Bhutanese architecture."
The UTEP will offer four competitive scholarships for graduate and undergraduate studies with a minimum funding of US $ 1,500 a year. The students will also be identified to on-campus employment opportunities. Bhutan News Service
