SAARC car rally completes Bhutan tour
Thimphu, March 20: The SAARC car rally arrived here in the capital city on Monday as part of their 30-day journey through the South Asian.
Home and Cultural Minister Lyonpo Jigme Y Thinley received the delegates and presented them with traditional 'Tashi Khada, a silken cloth carrying all the seven symbol of good luck on it.
The carcade crossed the Indo-Bhutan border early morning, at around 8:30, after resuming their journey from Chalsa city of West Bengal on the sixth day of the journey.
School children carrying flags of all SAARC members were standing on both sides in most places of the 200 km long highway from Indo-Bhutan border to the capital city to greet the rally participants.
Today, the rally descends down to Gelephu in the south-central Bhutan for an overnight stay before entering the Indian territory again on their way to Nepal. Bhutan News Service/Sangey Oendrey
